My name is Madison Briggs, and I’m one of the few female master carpenters in my entire state.
Wood shop was my thing in high school.
I always wanted to become an interior designer, but quickly uncovered that if I was to fully realize my dream.
I had to know how every board, bucket of paint, and nail would make it happen.
I had to be able to do it for myself if need be, and so that’s what I did.
I went from being in wood shop to teaching workshops on the weekends, helping others to ready their DIY warrior knowledge so that they could tackle home improvement projects and design at the same time.
I was hosting a weekend class at a local hotel, and I was astounded at the turnout.
I sold out every seat for a month, and eventually upgraded to a new space until that was at capacity as well.
One day, a student asked me “Madison, why don’t you make a resource that I can use when I’m actually doing these tasks?”
And it hit me just like that—www.homeideas.com would become my domain to inspire, assist, and help to create long-lasting ideas you could use in your home for years to come.
That’s exactly what I plan to do here. If you’re looking to improve your home in any way, this is where you need to be.
Let’s make it happen.
